FAQ – Frequently asked questions

If you have questions about our seminars, please get in touch. Before contacting us, please check below to see whether your question has already been answered.

Seminar registration

Can I withdraw from my seminar booking?

+

Yes. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

Can I book individual days of a two- or three-day seminar?

+

No. Two- and three-day seminars are structured as connected modules, so they cannot be separated. If you are interested in only one topic, please choose one of our standalone seminar dates.

Can I book several people onto one seminar?

+

No. Each participant needs an individual booking because certificates of attendance are issued in each person’s name. Group bookings are available only for in-house training and must be arranged with us in advance.

May I redact information on certificates if I have privacy concerns?

+

Yes, provided your name and a billing address remain visible to us. This is particularly relevant to documents proving veterinary status for ATF credits.

Are discounts available?

+

We are currently working with partners and organisations to arrange discounts. We also offer seminar-specific discounts through our social media channels.

Seminar content

Do I need these seminars to start working in clinical research?

+

Yes. GLP, VICH-GCP and GVP are established in EU and national law and form part of quality management in companies and authorities. If you work in clinical research, you will sooner or later need training in the relevant guidelines, as such training is mandatory.

Do the guidelines covered apply to both human and veterinary medicine?

+

GLP is mandatory for laboratory studies involving human or veterinary medicinal products when the data are intended to support an authorisation.
Veterinary VICH-GCP and GVP were adapted from human medicine, so you will also gain insight into the ICH guidelines used in human medicine. Although vetklinfo covers both areas in principle, its seminars are tailored to veterinary medicinal products.

Is there a final test, and what score do I need to pass?

+

To receive a certificate of attendance, you must score 75% on the final multiple-choice test (ATF rules) if the seminar awards ATF credits. Seminars without ATF credits also end with a multiple-choice test with the same pass mark.

Can I retake the final test?

+

Yes. Up to two retakes are allowed under ATF rules for seminars awarding ATF credits. The same rule applies to seminars without ATF credits. There is no additional charge.

Do certificates need to be renewed or refreshed?

+

In human medicine, ICH-GCP certificates must be refreshed every two to three years. There are currently no equivalent requirements in veterinary medicine, although we expect this practice to be adopted for at least VICH-GCP and GVP in the future.

How long are the certificates valid?

+

Unless other requirements apply, certificates are valid indefinitely.

Is a recording available after the seminar?

+

No.

Recognition and proof of attendance

Will I receive a certificate of attendance, and how?

+

After passing the final test, you will receive a certificate of attendance showing the seminar content and, where applicable, the ATF credits awarded.

Do veterinary professionals receive ATF credits for attending?

+

We apply for ATF credits for selected seminars. The number of credits is listed on our website and during registration. Please note that seminars for mixed audiences, such as veterinary professionals and life scientists, are generally not ATF-accredited because the ATF accredits veterinary audiences only. Most state veterinary chambers accept the credits when you provide your certificate of attendance, but we cannot guarantee this. We can guarantee recognition only for seminars accredited by the ATF.

What documents can I use to show that I meet the audience requirements for a profession-specific seminar?

+

Depending on the seminar, suitable proof may include a licence to practise, veterinary surgeon’s ID, proof of enrolment or another appropriate professional or qualification document. Please provide only the information required for verification. Unnecessary personal data may be redacted. The document is used solely to verify eligibility or the status stated.

Are online seminars recognised by the ATF?

+

Yes.

Does recognition also apply to participants from Austria and Switzerland?

+

Participants from Austria and Switzerland can generally submit ATF certificates towards their continuing education requirements.

Austria: ATF credits may be recognised under the Austrian Veterinary Chamber’s training rules (ÖTK).

Switzerland: Credits may be recognised under the guidelines of the Society of Swiss Veterinarians (GST); three ATF hours correspond to one GST credit.

Are qualifications from countries outside the EU accepted for the seminars?

+

Yes. Please note, however, that recognition of qualifications for subsequent veterinary work in Germany is regulated by law. Please check with the competent authority.

Organisational and technical questions

Which video-conferencing platform do the seminars use?

+

We use Moodle and its integrated video platform, BigBlueButton. Access details are sent automatically when you register for the seminar.

What equipment and technical setup do I need?

+

You will need a reasonably recent PC, laptop or tablet and a fast internet connection.

Will I receive a script or other handouts?

+

Yes. The seminar script is available to download from Moodle and is made available on the day of the seminar.

Can I ask questions during the seminar?

+

Yes, absolutely. Participants are muted during presentations to prevent interruptions, but you can use the chat at any time. Questions raised in the chat are answered directly. More general questions, or those not directly related to the current topic, are collected for discussion at the end. We finish with a moderated discussion of all outstanding questions and can unmute your microphone if you wish.

Chat etiquette

+

Our participants have always been considerate of speakers and other attendees and have kept discussions constructive, even when topics have been sensitive. Vetklinfo expressly reserves the right to respond directly to disruptive behaviour (see the Terms and Conditions).

Technical problems and solutions

The online seminar room opens 30 minutes before the start so you can check your settings (full-screen or windowed view, chat, audio and, if needed, camera and microphone). If you have little experience with online seminars, we strongly recommend that you test your setup well in advance. Check your speakers or headphones, microphone, camera and required browser permissions. Ask someone with technical experience for help if needed.

Common problems before or during a seminar:

  • I cannot hear anything
  • Others cannot hear me
  • I cannot use the chat
  • I cannot see the presentation
  • I cannot switch between full-screen and windowed view
  • The stream is badly delayed

Troubleshooting:

  • Check the audio settings and turn the sound on if necessary
  • Re-enter the video room once
  • Close all other applications and programmes
  • Close all other windows and tabs
  • Check antivirus software and its permissions
  • Camera/microphone: check connections, permissions and settings
  • Update the browser and check permissions and media access settings
  • Try another browser, preferably Firefox or Google Chrome
  • Try another device, preferably a PC, laptop or tablet
  • Restart your device
